Introducing Intuitive Eating

Introducing Intuitive Eating

“I don’t think I have the self-control for that.” That’s the number one fear I hear from others when I talk about the Intuitive Eating model I use with my clients. Using Intuitive Eating, I teach my clients how to listen to hunger, respect fullness, make food choices without experiencing guilt, and enjoy eating while honoring health. We work to end the dieting cycle and heal the relationship with food.

Intuitive Eating can sound scary at first, especially if you’ve been dieting for years. Many people believe that they need a diet to control their eating. However, dieting is often what causes cravings, emotional eating, and overeating. When certain types or amounts of food are forbidden, it increases the desire for them. This is a normal psychological response, so if you have trouble following a diet, it might just mean that you’re normal. Let me put your mind at ease; self-control has nothing to do with it. In fact, you don’t need self-control to become an intuitive eater.

Research shows that intuitive eaters eat a larger variety of healthful food, have better cholesterol and blood sugar levels, higher self-esteem, and increased enjoyment with eating. Basically, Intuitive Eating leads to a healthier and happier you. Intuitive Eating can feel hard at first, but unlike dieting, it gets much easier over time. As a certified intuitive eating counselor, I can help you learn how to ditch dieting and eat intuitively. Reach out to me for your free 30 minute session to see how I can help.
